SKS Automaatio has become a member of the international LoRa Alliance™. The greatest benefits, according to Managing Director Rami Hakala, are collaborating together and sharing experience. “But the opportunity to influence the development and spread of LoRa technology is also a positive feature,” notes Hakala. Membership will enable the manufacture and certification of LoRa-compatible products. Public LoRa networks are currently being formed in many countries – such as in Finland, where Digita Oy is creating a public LoRa network. The latest product in the SKS Sensors® product family is the IoTKey® system which utilizes a LoRa network for data transmission. SKS Automaatio intends to launch further products that will be fully compatible with LoRa networks.
Thus, SKS Automaatio is rapidly becoming an even more competent and comprehensive partner as a solutions provider for the Internet of Things (IoT). Our customers will be among the first companies to benefit from this expertise. Be sure to ask us about our latest product solutions!
LoRa is the acronym for Long Range Radio. Thus, a LoRaWAN™ is an LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) specification designed for wireless, battery-operated “Things” (devices) in regional, national or global networks – as part of the Internet of Things (IoT). LoRaWAN targets key requirements of the IoT, such as seamless interoperability among smart Things, without the need for complex local installations. It gives users, developers and companies the freedom to expand the IoT.
